About The Mob Museum

The Mob Museum, officially known as the National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement, is a history museum located in Downtown Las Vegas, Nevada. Established on February 14, 2012, the museum is dedicated to exploring the history of organized crime in the United States and the efforts of law enforcement to combat it.

Housed in the former Las Vegas Post Office and Courthouse, a building constructed in 1933 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the museum is situated at 300 Stewart Avenue, just two blocks north of Fremont Street, the main artery of the downtown casino district.

Visitor Experience

The museum offers an immersive experience through a vast collection of artifacts, interactive exhibits, and multimedia presentations that chronicle the history of organized crime and its impact on American society. Visitors can explore the evolution of organized crime from its early days to its present-day manifestations.

This provides insights into the complex relationship between criminals and law enforcement.

Notable Exhibits

  • The actual brick wall from the St. Valentine's Day Massacre, a notorious 1929 event in Chicago where seven members of Bugs Moran's gang were murdered, displayed on the third floor with bullet holes intact.

The Underground Speakeasy and Distillery

In 2018, the museum expanded its offerings with the addition of "The Underground," a fully operational speakeasy and distillery located in the basement. This immersive exhibit transports visitors back to the Prohibition era, featuring a well-stocked bar, live jazz music, and the museum's own moonshine crafted in a custom-built pot still.

Access to The Underground is included with general admission for visitors aged 21 and over.
