About Saint Xavier University
Saint Xavier University (SXU), established in 1846 by the Sisters of Mercy, is a private Catholic institution located in Chicago, Illinois. As the oldest chartered college in the city, SXU has a rich history of providing quality education rooted in the values of the Sisters of Mercy.
Academic Programs
The university offers a diverse range of undergraduate and graduate programs through its two colleges: the College of Liberal Arts and Education, and the College of Nursing, Health Sciences, and Business.
The Graham School of Management, part of the latter college, is recognized as a Center of Excellence by the National League for Nursing.
Campus and Facilities
SXU's main campus spans 74 acres in the Mt. Greenwood neighborhood, featuring 620,000 square feet of facilities.
These include five residence halls, a quad, and a spring-fed pond.

- The Warde Academic Center, the oldest on campus, housing administrative offices and the library
- The Shannon Center, an 85,000-square-foot facility serving as the hub for fitness and exercise

Community Engagement
The university is committed to community engagement, offering services such as the Health Center, a nurse practitioner-led primary care clinic serving students, faculty, staff, and community members.
It also features the Ludden Speech and Language Clinic, providing services for individuals with communication disorders, and the Renaissance Academy, a learning community for retired and semi-retired individuals.
