Portland State University

Portland State University (PSU) is a public coeducational research university located in downtown Portland, Oregon. Established in 1946 as the Vanport Extension Center to serve World War II veterans, it evolved into a four-year college and was granted university status in 1969.

PSU offers over 200 degree and certificate programs across various disciplines, including the College of the Arts, College of Education, College of Liberal Arts & Sciences, College of Urban & Public Affairs, Maseeh College of Engineering & Computer Science, OHSU-PSU School of Public Health, School of Social Work, and the School of Business Administration.

The university's campus spans 50 acres in the University District of downtown Portland, featuring facilities such as the Branford Price Millar Library, which houses over 1.4 million volumes, and the Academic and Student Recreation Center, offering fitness and recreational amenities.
