The Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (ODMHSAS) is the state's primary agency dedicated to providing comprehensive mental health and substance abuse services to Oklahomans. Established in 1953, ODMHSAS serves as the safety net for individuals facing mental health challenges and substance use disorders.

To support individuals in crisis, ODMHSAS operates the 988 Mental Health Lifeline, connecting callers to trained professionals 24/7. The department also manages the state's behavioral health Medicaid services and certifies approximately 6,000 treatment providers, organizations, and individuals throughout Oklahoma.
