Mizu Charlotte

Mizu Charlotte is a premier dining destination located atop the Hyatt Centric in Charlotte's SouthPark neighborhood. Established in August 2021 by the Indigo Road Hospitality Group, Mizu offers a unique culinary experience that seamlessly blends traditional Japanese Robata grilling techniques with Southern influences and Asian-inspired flavors.

The restaurant's centerpiece is its custom-designed Robata grill, an ancient Japanese cooking method that utilizes open flames to enhance the natural flavors of meat, seafood, and vegetables. This technique imparts a distinct texture and taste to the dishes, setting Mizu apart in the Charlotte dining scene.

Mizu's menu is seafood-focused, featuring a variety of wood-fired, raw, and chilled offerings, as well as sushi and shareable plates. Signature dishes include the Hokkaido Scallop Crudo, drizzled with celery verde oil and sudachi, and the Prawn Cocktail, featuring lemongrass-poached jumbo shrimp with wasabi cocktail sauce.

The Robata grill also serves as the main inspiration for the menu, creating dishes with ingredients ranging from mushrooms to Yellowtail cheeks and lobster.

The beverage program complements the cuisine with bright, refreshing cocktails crafted using Japanese spirits and seasonal ingredients. The restaurant's design incorporates natural elements, reflecting the meaning of “Mizu,” which translates to “water” in Japanese.

Mizu offers private and semi-private event spaces, including the rooftop terrace. These spaces accommodate groups ranging from 24 to 200 guests, making them ideal for various events from intimate gatherings to large rooftop parties.

Mizu Charlotte is located at 3100 Apex Drive, 9th Floor, Charlotte, NC 28211. The restaurant operates dinner service daily beginning at 5 PM. Happy hour specials are available on Tuesday and Thursday from 5 PM to 7 PM, and late-night happy hour runs Friday and Saturday from 9 PM to 11 PM.
