About MCHC
The Muslim Community and Health Center of Wisconsin (MCHC) is a nonprofit organization established in 2004. It is dedicated to enhancing the well-being of the Milwaukee community by offering a comprehensive range of healthcare and social services.
Operating as a 501(c)(3) entity since February 2012, MCHC is committed to providing compassionate and high-quality care to individuals and families in need.
Healthcare Services
MCHC offers a variety of medical services through its Family Practice Clinic, including:
- Urgent Care: Addressing non-life-threatening medical issues promptly.
- Physicals: Conducting routine health examinations for all ages.
- Screenings: Monitoring blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, and obesity (BMI).
- Vaccinations: Administering immunizations to prevent various diseases.
- Men's and Women's Health: Providing specialized care tailored to each gender's needs.
- Behavioral Health: Offering mental health services and counseling.
For specialized medical needs, MCHC facilitates referrals to various services, such as cardiology, dermatology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, general surgery, neurology, obstetrics, ophthalmology, physical therapy, podiatry, and imaging services.
Social Services
Beyond healthcare, MCHC is deeply involved in social services aimed at supporting the community.
- Sakina Senior Center: A dedicated space for individuals aged 60 and above, offering events, meals, and membership opportunities to foster social engagement and well-being.
- Refugee Resource Center: Assisting refugees with essential services such as translation, interpretation, immigration support, and donation facilitation.
Community Engagement and Expansion
In August 2022, MCHC achieved the health center program look-alike designation, enabling the organization to expand its services and better serve the diverse Milwaukee community.
This designation allows MCHC to offer additional specialties, including neurology, cardiology, and podiatry, and to enhance mental and behavioral health services.
