Mary's Woods

Mary's Woods is a nonprofit continuing care retirement community (CCRC) located in Lake Oswego, Oregon. It offers a comprehensive continuum of housing, healthcare, and educational services for older adults. Established in 1997 and opened in 2001, it was founded by the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary, reflecting their commitment to providing a full spectrum of care and support for seniors.

Situated on a scenic 40-acre campus along the Willamette River, Mary's Woods provides a park-like environment with walking trails, gardens, and natural wooded areas. The community offers a range of living options designed with comfort and accessibility in mind.

Wellness and Lifelong Learning

Mary's Woods places strong emphasis on wellness and lifelong learning. Residents can participate in educational seminars, guest lectures, book clubs, intergenerational programs, and spiritual enrichment activities.

Creative and recreational offerings include art workshops, music groups, gardening, nature walks, and group outings to local cultural attractions such as the Lake Oswego Farmers’ Market and the Portland Art Museum. Volunteer opportunities and resident-led clubs foster a sense of purpose and connection.

2019 Expansion

In 2019, the community underwent a significant expansion, adding:

• 198 independent living apartments
• 48 assisted living apartments
• The Dunne Community Center featuring a café, bar, and a 300-seat auditorium

This development enhanced the community's offerings and integrated it more closely with the surrounding Lake Oswego and Portland metro areas.
