LAIKA is an American independent production company renowned for its innovative stop-motion animation and forthcoming live-action feature films. Founded in 2005 by President & CEO Travis Knight, the studio is headquartered in Hillsboro, Oregon, part of the Portland metropolitan area.
Notable Films and Awards
The studio has produced several critically acclaimed films, including "Coraline" (2009), "ParaNorman" (2012), "The Boxtrolls" (2014), "Kubo and the Two Strings" (2016), and "Missing Link" (2019). Each of these films received Academy Award® nominations for Outstanding Animated Feature.
"Kubo and the Two Strings" won the BAFTA® Award for Best Animated Film and was also nominated for an Oscar® for Visual Effects. "Missing Link" garnered the Golden Globe® for Best Animated Film.
Current and Upcoming Projects
LAIKA is currently in production on its sixth animated film, "Wildwood," based on the book series by Colin Meloy and illustrator Carson Ellis. The studio is also developing "The Night Gardener," an animated film from an original idea by Bill Dubuque, creator of the hit series "Ozark."
Additionally, LAIKA is working on its first live-action feature film based on the action thriller novel "Seventeen" by screenwriter John Brownlow.

Due to their tight production schedule and for the safety of their staff, LAIKA is not offering studio tours at this time.
