About Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants
Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, founded in 1981 by Bill Kimpton, is a San Francisco-based boutique hotel and restaurant brand that pioneered the concept of unique, design-forward accommodations in the United States. Acquired by InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) in 2015, it has expanded its portfolio to over 75 hotels and 90 restaurants, bars, and lounges across more than 55 cities in the US, Canada, Europe, the Caribbean, and Greater China.
Each Kimpton property is individually designed to reflect local culture and environment, offering guests a personalized and authentic experience. The brand emphasizes bold, playful design, award-winning dining, and thoughtful amenities to create memorable stays.
Kimpton's commitment to guest satisfaction has earned it a consistent presence on FORTUNE magazine's "100 Best Companies to Work For" list.
In addition to its hotels, Kimpton operates a diverse array of restaurants, bars, and lounges, each with unique culinary offerings. For example, Kimpton Santo San Antonio - Riverwalk features Dean's Steak and Seafood, a two-level dining room with 207 seats, an oyster bar, and a private wine room, managed by executive chef Robert Garcia.
The company demonstrates a strong dedication to sustainability through its Earthcare program. This program implements environmentally friendly practices such as using eco-friendly cleaning supplies and promoting recycling across its properties.
