International Leadership Charter High School

International Leadership Charter High School (ILCHS) is a tuition-free public charter school dedicated to preparing students for higher education and leadership roles in a global society. Established in 2006, ILCHS offers an academically rigorous college preparatory curriculum that elevates students' intellectual capacity and provides a superior high school education.

The school's mission is to expand students' knowledge of international studies and cultivate their leadership skills with a commitment to community service, social action, and civic participation. ILCHS aims to change lives and transform communities, one scholar at a time.

ILCHS offers a comprehensive curriculum that includes international studies, leadership development, and community engagement. Students participate in programs such as the Model United Nations Junior Ambassador’s program, STEM initiatives, and the CUNY CollegeNow Program at Lehman College.

The school has achieved notable success, with a graduation rate of 95% in its first graduating class, many of whom became the first in their families to attend college. This accomplishment has continued each year, culminating in U.S. News & World Report naming ILCHS one of the Best High Schools nationally, receiving Bronze level recognition.

In 2025, ILCHS expanded its educational offerings by opening a middle school campus. The International Leadership Charter Middle School implements an academically rigorous college preparatory curriculum that elevates students’ intellectual capacity and prepares them for higher education.

The middle school focuses on international studies, leadership development, and community engagement, with plans to add one grade level each year until it serves grades 6 through 8.
