HomeRise

HomeRise, formerly known as Community Housing Partnership, is a San Francisco-based nonprofit organization dedicated to combating homelessness by providing supportive housing and comprehensive services to individuals, seniors, and families. Established over 30 years ago, HomeRise has been instrumental in transforming the lives of thousands of San Franciscans by offering stable housing combined with essential support services.

The organization's core mission centers on the belief that a permanent home, coupled with supportive services such as healthcare, counseling, and job training, can provide the stability necessary for individuals to escape homelessness permanently. Housing and Developments

HomeRise manages a diverse portfolio of properties across San Francisco, including notable developments like HomeRise at Mission Bay. This project offers 140 studio apartments for formerly homeless individuals, complete with supportive services and a community garden, fostering a sense of belonging and stability.

The development has been recognized for its excellence, receiving the 2023 Urban Land Institute Americas Award for Excellence in the Small-Scale Development category.

Despite its significant contributions, HomeRise has faced challenges, including financial mismanagement concerns. An audit released in April 2024 revealed issues such as inflated salaries, unwarranted bonuses, and the creation of new corporate positions without adequate financial consideration.

These findings have prompted the organization to implement corrective measures to ensure responsible stewardship of resources and maintain the trust of the community and stakeholders.
