About Highlands College
Highlands College is a biblical higher education institution located in Birmingham, Alabama, dedicated to equipping individuals for leadership roles within the Church.
Established in 2011 by the Church of the Highlands, the college aims to supply the Church with leaders of competence, character, and spiritual maturity.
Students receive holistic training to fulfill the Great Commission.

Campus Facilities
In 2022, Highlands College inaugurated a state-of-the-art campus on a 70-acre site along U.S. Highway 280 in Birmingham.
The facility, formerly the HealthSouth headquarters, underwent a $50 million renovation to become a cutting-edge educational environment.
The campus features:
- 19 learning studios
- Eight hands-on ministry training labs
- A 1,400-seat auditorium
- Dining and recreation facilities
- A campus green
To enhance student life, the college opened its first on-campus residence hall in January 2023.
Funded by a $20 million gift from Hobby Lobby founder David Green, the five-story, 68,000-square-foot facility provides housing for 252 students.
The residence includes various indoor and outdoor gathering spaces.
Degrees and Accreditation
Highlands College offers undergraduate degrees in areas such as technical arts, visual arts, worship ministry, family ministry, global ministry, pastoral ministry, and student ministry.
Students can also pursue minors in business administration or any of the ministry fields.
The college is accredited by the Association for Biblical Higher Education and authorized by the Alabama Commission on Higher Education to confer four-year bachelor's degrees.
