Goodwin Living

Goodwin Living is a not-for-profit, faith-based organization dedicated to supporting, honoring, and uplifting the lives of older adults and those who care for them. Established in 1967 as Goodwin House, the organization rebranded to Goodwin Living in 2022 to better reflect its expanded mission and services.

Operating in the National Capital Region, Goodwin Living offers a comprehensive range of senior living and healthcare services to adults aged 55 and up.

Services Offered

Goodwin Living's services include:

• Senior Living Communities: They operate several Life Plan Communities, also known as continuing care retirement communities. These provide a continuum of care from independent living to assisted living, memory support, short-term rehabilitation, and skilled nursing care. The communities support residents at every stage of aging.
• Home and Community-Based Services: Extending beyond residential campuses, these services include:
  • Goodwin Home Health: Medicare-certified skilled nursing and therapy services for individuals unable to leave their homes, including physical, occupational, and speech therapy, plus assistance with daily activities.
  • Goodwin Home Care: Private duty personal care and support for residents of Goodwin Living campuses and surrounding communities such as Alexandria, Arlington, and Falls Church. Services include personal care, homemaking, and companionship.
  • Goodwin Hospice: Compassionate end-of-life care to individuals aged 18 and up in their homes or within Goodwin Living communities.
  • Goodwin Rehabilitation: In-house therapy services aimed at improving the lives of older adults within Life Plan Communities, including physical, occupational, and speech therapy.
• Brain Health Programs: The StrongerMemory program provides brain health services to older adults nationwide, focusing on cognitive well-being and support for those with mild cognitive challenges or early dementia.

Future Development

Goodwin Living is developing a new campus, Goodwin House Seminary Road, with a sales center set to open in August 2025.
