About GI Alliance
GI Alliance is a physician-led and majority physician-owned organization dedicated to providing exceptional gastrointestinal (GI) care across the United States. Established in 2018, the company has rapidly expanded its network, now encompassing nearly 700 independent gastroenterologists operating in 14 states, including Texas, Arkansas, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma, Utah, and Washington.
The organization's mission centers on delivering high-quality, patient-focused GI services. By uniting independent practices, GI Alliance aims to enhance patient outcomes through shared expertise, advanced technology, and comprehensive support systems.
This collaborative approach allows physicians to maintain clinical autonomy while benefiting from operational efficiencies and resources that improve patient care.
In addition to its clinical services, GI Alliance is committed to advancing the field of gastroenterology through research and education. The organization actively participates in clinical trials and research initiatives, providing patients with access to cutting-edge treatments and contributing to the broader medical community's understanding of GI health.
The company's growth has been marked by strategic partnerships and acquisitions. In 2022, GI Alliance completed a physician-led buyout valued at $2.2 billion, facilitated by a $785 million non-control investment from Apollo Global Management.
This partnership has enabled the organization to strengthen its existing practices and support future growth initiatives.
As of July 2025, GI Alliance continues to expand its presence, with over 120 office locations and affiliations with more than 50 hospitals. The organization remains dedicated to its mission of providing exceptional GI care, fostering physician collaboration, and advancing the field through research and education.
