Overview
Elmwood Park Zoo, located in Norristown, Pennsylvania, is a 16-acre zoological park dedicated to wildlife conservation and education. Established in 1924, the zoo has grown from a small menagerie into a vibrant institution housing over 100 species worldwide.
Animal Exhibits and Attractions
The zoo's diverse collection includes giraffes, zebras, bald and golden eagles, jaguars, and red pandas.
Notably, the giraffe feeding experience allows visitors to interact closely with these majestic animals.
Other attractions include the Thomas Kimmel Playground, a state-of-the-art interactive playground, and the Oberkircher Discovery Center, which houses the zoo’s educational programs and offices.

In 2023, the zoo broke ground on a new Welcome Center and Veterinary Health Center.
The Frank and Paige Engro Veterinary Health Center opened in the summer of 2024 and features interactive displays, animal exhibits, and over 3,000 square feet of retail space.
