DCI Donor Services, Inc. (DCIDS) is a nonprofit healthcare organization dedicated to saving and improving lives through organ, eye, and tissue donation. Established in 1972, DCIDS operates as a comprehensive network comprising three federally designated organ procurement organizations (OPOs): Tennessee Donor Services, Sierra Donor Services, and New Mexico Donor Services.

The organization also includes a tissue bank known as DCIDS Tissue Bank and an eye bank, Sierra Donor Services Eye Bank.

The organization's mission centers on honoring "Donor Heroes"—individuals who have selflessly given the gift of life—by facilitating the recovery, preservation, and transportation of organs and tissues to patients awaiting transplants.

Through these efforts, DCIDS aims to end the transplant waiting list by connecting donors with recipients in need.

Services Offered by DCIDS

• Organ Donation: A single donor can save up to eight lives by donating vital organs such as the heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, pancreas, and intestines. However, less than one percent of all deaths occur in circumstances suitable for organ donation.
• Tissue Donation: One tissue donor can save and enhance the lives of 75 or more individuals through donations like heart valves, corneas, skin, and bone. These tissues are crucial for medical procedures that restore mobility, heal wounds, and improve the quality of life for recipients.
• Birth Tissue Donation: Expectant mothers can contribute to the healing of others by donating birth tissue. This process is safe for both mother and baby and repurposes tissue that would typically be discarded.
• Living Donation: Living donors can make an immediate impact by donating a kidney or a portion of the liver, thereby reducing the time patients spend on the transplant waiting list. This donation can be from relatives, friends, acquaintances, or even anonymous altruistic donors.
