About Claim Jumper
Claim Jumper Restaurant & Saloon is a renowned American dining establishment that has been serving guests since its inception in 1977. Founded by restaurateur Craig Nickoloff in Los Alamitos, California, the restaurant draws inspiration from California's Gold Rush era. It offers a unique blend of traditional American cuisine in a Western-themed ambiance.
Over the years, Claim Jumper has built a reputation for its generous portions and diverse menu, catering to a wide range of tastes. The menu features a medley of homemade dishes, including burgers, sandwiches, fresh-baked pot pie, specialty salads, pasta, baby back pork ribs, seafood, and Certified Angus Beef®.
A standout item is the Six-Layer Chocolate Motherlode Cake, recognized as one of America's "Top 5 Most Decadent Desserts" by the Food Network.
In 2010, Claim Jumper faced financial challenges and filed for bankruptcy. Subsequently, Landry's, Inc., a Houston-based hospitality company, acquired the brand and relocated the company's headquarters to Houston. Under Landry's ownership, Claim Jumper has continued to operate, focusing on maintaining its legacy of quality and customer satisfaction.
As of October 2023, Claim Jumper has significantly downsized to only 11 locations across four states in the western United States.
Locations
- California: Los Angeles, Riverside, Sacramento, and San Bernardino
- Nevada: Las Vegas (two locations within Golden Nugget casino properties)
- Oregon: Portland
- Washington: Seattle and Tukwila
Despite the reduction in locations, Claim Jumper continues to offer a family-friendly dining experience with a focus on hearty American comfort food.
The restaurants are known for their welcoming atmosphere, making them suitable for gatherings of all sizes. Whether you're in the mood for a classic burger, a comforting pot pie, or a decadent dessert, Claim Jumper provides a satisfying dining experience that pays homage to its rich history and culinary traditions.
