About City Cellars

City Cellars is a dynamic dining establishment that seamlessly blends Southern-inspired cuisine with global flavors, offering a unique culinary experience in Houston, Texas. Founded by owner Daniel Wolfe and executive chef Antonette Wright, the restaurant has undergone significant growth and transformation since its inception.

Initially launched in the Museum District in December 2020, City Cellars quickly gained popularity for its eclectic menu and vibrant brunch service. The original location, situated at 1801 Binz St, Ste 120, became so successful that it often had to turn away customers due to limited space.

This overwhelming demand led to the decision to relocate to a more expansive venue. In July 2023, the restaurant closed its previous location and began preparations to reopen in the East River development along Buffalo Bayou. The new address is 2850 Riverby Rd, Suite 110, Houston, TX 77020.

The expanded space in East River offers a larger kitchen, allowing for a more diverse menu and an enhanced cocktail program. The interior features a glass-encased wine wall at the entrance and an indoor micro-garden, with approximately 60% of the produce used in the restaurant sourced from this garden.

The design incorporates elements reflecting Houston's Space City identity, including a mural of an astronaut and light fixtures resembling moons. The wrap-around patio provides scenic views of the city and the bayou, with designated areas for live music and wine gatherings.

Menu Highlights

City Cellars' menu, crafted by Chef Wright, is a fusion of Southern-inspired dishes and global flavors, reflecting Wolfe's travel experiences. Signature items include Sriracha mac and cheese balls, calamari, sliders, shakshuka, and a two-pound cinnamon roll.

The brunch board features fried chicken, and the Cajun board includes cornbread, gumbo, shrimp, and grits. The cocktail program emphasizes fresh-pressed juices and supports minority-owned and women-owned wine brands, offering unique drinks like The Unknown (a blueberry lime gin lemonade) and H-Town Hideaway (a spiced mango margarita with watermelon).

Private Event Spaces

In addition to its culinary offerings, City Cellars provides private event spaces suitable for various occasions, including a scenic patio with bayou views, a lively beer garden, and sophisticated private rooms.

The restaurant is committed to delivering an adults-only celebration experience, with options for prix-fixe menus, happy hour packages, and fully custom menus.
