In 2012, Caffeina opened its first storefront, originally named Coffee Studio, in Boise, Idaho. By 2014, the company had developed proprietary espresso and coffee blends.

In 2015, it expanded into equipment maintenance with the purchase of Premier Beverage Service. The official launch of Caffeina Roasting Company came in 2018 with the purchase of their first Ozturk Bay coffee roaster and the opening of their roasting house on State & Collister in Boise.

• Caffeina on Overland: Situated at 6575 W Overland Rd, this location offers a mid-century modern ambiance with a 50-foot long bar, community seating, and a drive-thru. The menu includes house-made kombucha, local beers, wine, and fresh-made bites.
• Caffeina Kitchen: Opened on September 6, 2024, at 1416 W. Grove St., this location honors the legacy of Big City Coffee and Cafe, introducing Caffeina's approach to the downtown market. It retains popular items like cinnamon rolls and biscuits and gravy.

Awards and Future Plans

Caffeina's commitment to quality and community has garnered recognition such as the Idaho Veterans Chamber of Commerce’s 2024 Supporter of the Year award.

The company continues to expand, planning a new café in the North End/Southeast Boise area in 2025, and a second roastery, café, and commissary kitchen in Alpine, Wyoming.
