Asian Pacific Islander Legal Outreach

Asian Pacific Islander Legal Outreach (APILO) is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing culturally competent and linguistically appropriate legal representation, social services, and advocacy for marginalized communities in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Established in 1975, APILO focuses on serving low-income women, seniors, recent immigrants, and youth. The organization aims to empower these groups through comprehensive support and resources.

Core Services Offered by APILO

• Violence Against Women Project: APILO is committed to serving survivors of domestic violence, stalking, harassment, and related forms of violence through a holistic and survivor-centered approach.
• Senior Law, Elder Abuse, Disability Rights Projects: The organization addresses public benefits, consumer fraud, elder and disability rights, empowering seniors and adults with disabilities to live with dignity.
• Immigrant Rights Project: APILO advances immigrant rights by providing clinics and expert legal representation in various immigration law areas.
• Housing Projects: Offers legal assistance and education on housing-related topics to help vulnerable tenants and homeowners maintain stable housing.
• Anti-Human Trafficking Project: In partnership with other Bay Area non-profits, APILO provides survivors of trafficking with the legal and social services they need.
• Youth Advisory Council: Established in 1997, the Youth Advisory Council (YAC) began as a peer-education program to end youth dating violence and now addresses issues from LGBTQ rights to Bay Area housing.

APILO operates in two primary locations within the San Francisco Bay Area:

• Oakland Office: Situated at 310 8th St., Suite 305, Oakland, CA 94607, catering to the Oakland community.
