Wait Staff Duties & Responsibilities
- Take customer orders and communicate them clearly to the kitchen staff
- Provide assistance on the menu and suggest orders to customers
- Prepare tables for new customers, ensuring cleanliness and proper setup
- Deliver orders accurately and promptly
- Ensure customers enjoy their meals and make accommodations as needed
- Process payments accurately, including sales taxes and itemizing orders
- Assist with other server and team member responsibilities as necessary
- Handle customer queries and complaints in a friendly and hospitable manner
- Take customer feedback and communicate it to management when necessary
- Check the quality of dishes before serving
- Monitor and perform cleaning services regularly
Wait Staff Experience Requirements & Skills
- Prior experience in a customer-facing role preferred
- Some experience managing money, processing accurate monetary transactions and using a point-of-sale system
- Capability to handle multiple duties simultaneously, including order serving and customer assistance
- Physically fit, capable of carrying plates and standing for extended periods
- Ability to maintain focus and perform duties effectively under pressure
- Excellent interpersonal, time management and communication skills
Wait Staff Education & Qualifications
- No formal education is required but a high school diploma is encouraged
