Porter Job Overview

Porter Duties & Responsibilities

  • Greet guests with a warm and friendly attitude
  • Assist guests with luggage and ensure a smooth check-in/check-out process
  • Address minor issues in guest rooms or common areas promptly and efficiently
  • Collaborate with other staff members to maintain a positive and efficient working environment
  • Provide information about the facility, local attractions and services to guests
  • Ensure the cleanliness of common areas
  • Assist in organizing and coordinating special events or requests
  • Uphold and enforce the facility’s standards for quality and customer service
  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of the facility’s layout and amenities

Porter Experience Requirements & Skills

  • Previous experience in a porter or similar role (preferred)
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
  • Proactive problem-solving skills
  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift luggage of more than 55 lbs.
  • Professional and approachable demeanor

Porter Education & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
  • Training experience in hospitality or customer service is an advantage
