Job Requirements

  • Must have three years experience demonstrating knowledge of youth sports and fitness program operations
  • Must have CPR/AED/First Aid certification
  • Experience with automated data processing and administrative correspondence
  • Experience in customer service and relations
  • Ability to work with little supervision
  • Ability to lift and carry objects up to 45lbs independently and over 45lbs with assistance
  • Ability to complete National Youth Sports Coaches clinic-training and obtain/maintain NAYS CYSA certification within six months
  • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain government license
  • Able to operate 1.5 ton and 45 passenger bus or larger vehicle

  • Must have CPR/AED/First Aide certification
  • Must have experience with automated data processing procedures and administrative correspondence
  • Must have experience in customer service and relations
  • Must be able to work with little supervision
  • Ability to complete the National Youth Sports Coaches clinic-training program and obtain/maintain National Alliance for Youth Sports (NAYS) Certified Youth Sports Administrator (CYSA) certification within six months of hire
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and ability to obtain a government license
  • Able to operate a vehicle with a gross weight of 1 1/2 ton and 45 passenger bus or larger vehicle as required

Job Duties

  • Plans, organizes, coordinates and manages a comprehensive youth fitness/sports program
  • Serves as liaison with other military services, organizations, and local community
  • Ensures facilities are properly prepared in accordance with the rules and regulation of the sport and league
  • Assists in maintaining sports grounds in proper playing condition
  • May operate a vehicle (1.5 ton or passenger bus) to transport people or equipment
  • Recruits, trains and supervises Recreation Assistant (Youth Sports Assistant) to include scheduling, providing tasks and overseeing work
  • May serve as manager on duty in the fitness centers, managing fitness center personnel/operations in the absence of fitness center management
  • Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers critical to the execution of the Youth Sports/Fitness program
  • Monitors coaches and compliance with the National Youth Sports Coaches (NYSC) policies and guidelines
  • Monitors the performance of contracted Youth Sports Officials and reports issues to the Athletic Director/Contract COR
  • Communicates officiating needs to Athletic Director/Contract COR and works to ensure that officiating remains within the confines of the established contract
  • Assists in preparation of supporting data for new plans and budget requirement recommendations
  • Monitors a very extensive equipment issue program and applies reasonable control measures to maximize usage of supplies and equipment
  • Conducts inventories of resources (uniforms, equipment, supplies) and ensures adequate storage and maintenance
  • Examines assigned youth sports resources for defects
  • Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy
  • Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner
  • Takes action to solve problems quickly
  • Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise
  • Adheres to safety regulations and standards
  • Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor
  • Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
