Job Requirements

  • Minimum 30 hours/week availability Monday-Friday 8 am-5 pm local time
  • Work hours must be spread across at least four days with a minimum of four consecutive hours per day
  • Commitment to work early February through early April 2026
  • Comfortable with technology, paperless workflows, and self-guided learning
  • Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Professional demeanor with ability to manage confidential information
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma required
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Experience in individual tax return preparation preferred
  • Familiarity with basic accounting concepts preferred
  • Ability to obtain a PTIN
  • Minimum of two seasons of tax preparation experience with a minimum of 30 returns per year
  • PTIN required for customer support roles
  • Prior tax preparation experience in a tax practice or retail setting
  • Knowledge of tax laws, tax concepts, and Form 1040
  • Strong computer skills and ability to learn quickly
  • High attention to detail and ability to follow procedures
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a team environment

Job Duties

  • Enter client data and financial information into tax preparation software
  • Prepare tax returns accurately, following firm policies and procedures
  • Maintain client confidentiality in line with company protocols
  • Provide real-time tax advice and troubleshooting via video and chat support
  • Guide clients in gathering and organizing data for federal and state returns
  • Analyze tax matters and offer accurate advice based on company policies and resources
  • Review and follow up on customer callbacks and tax accuracy issues
