Job Requirements
- Completion of Infant or Toddler Child Development Associate certification
- Six months to one year of related experience and/or training
- Education and experience must reflect the specific age group assigned
- Must be currently enrolled in or agree to enroll in coursework for Child Development Associate certification and complete within 6 months of hire date
- Ability to manage classroom environments and children effectively
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work calmly in emergency situations
- Knowledge of client population cultural and socioeconomic characteristics
- Ability to collaborate with team members and diverse clientele
Job Qualifications
- Comply with all Colorado State Licensing requirements
- Infant Nursery Supervisor (INS) qualification for Infant or Infant Toddler mixed age rooms
- Ability to effectively manage a classroom of children
- Strong interpersonal communication skills with children, parents, and co-workers
- Ability to remember schedules, programs, policies, and other details
- Ability to remain calm and calm others in emergency or confrontational situations
- Knowledge of cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of the service population
- Ability to interact effectively as a team member and independently
- Currently enrolled in or agree to enroll in coursework for CDA certification, to be completed within 6 months of hire
Job Duties
- Design and maintain a physical and programmatic classroom environment that supports developmental needs of children
- Establish educational and social goals in accordance with Head Start Performance Standards and Colorado State Licensing
- Develop and implement daily activity plans that stimulate learning in all developmental areas
- Comply with Colorado State Licensing requirements
- Assist Center Supervisor with supervision, training, and guidance of staff in the classroom
- Organize classroom materials and conduct ongoing inventory to ensure adequate supplies
- Develop positive relationships with parents and families and conduct family conferences and home visits
- Coordinate and inform parents of field trips and extracurricular activities
- Provide guidance and training to staff and volunteers and evaluate their performance
- Plan and participate in preparation and serving of meals and snacks
- Arrange and supervise field trips
