Job Requirements

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Ability to communicate by reading, writing legibly, speaking and comprehending English effectively
  • Knowledge of EKG and venipuncture skills
  • High school education or equivalent preferred
  • One year of technical experience preferred
  • Ability to follow sterile protocols and safety guidelines
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work variable shifts including on-call hours

Job Qualifications

  • One year of technical experience preferred
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English including reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension
  • Knowledge of EKG and venipuncture skills
  • Organizational skills
  • Current knowledge of medical terminology preferred
  • Computer skills preferred

Job Duties

  • Supports operating room staff by maintaining a safe environment and delivering quality patient care
  • Assists nursing staff with patient care by positioning and transferring anesthetized patients and supporting limbs during surgical skin preps
  • Delivers specimens and blood products to labs
  • Ensures stretchers and oxygen tanks are readily available for patient transport
  • Maintains surgical machines and equipment and prepares operating suites
  • May assist in delivery of medications
  • Utilizes knowledge of cleaning protocols for all types of specialty surgical equipment
  • Performs terminal cleaning of operating rooms as assigned
  • Contributes ideas for improvement of department goals including first case starts and turnover times
  • Performs other duties as assigned
