Job Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship or current authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Residency in the State of New York
  • Ability to obtain SIDA badge and meet airport security requirements
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license
  • Ability to obtain GSC qualification and comply with DOT drug and alcohol testing program
  • Ability to perform physical duties including lifting weights up to 70 pounds
  • Ability to work in outdoor and inclement weather conditions
  • Ability to comply with company attendance and appearance standards
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • No sponsorship for work authorization provided
  • Experience with airline operations and leadership

Job Qualifications

  • Fully functioning, broad knowledge of airline operations
  • Skilled in leadership and team management
  • Knowledge of collective bargaining agreements and their applications
  • Skilled in problem-solving and effective communication
  • Ability to enforce safety and compliance procedures
  • Ability to develop, engage, and coach employees
  • Familiarity with airport operations and ground support equipment

Job Duties

  • Model the Southwest Way by guiding and leading team members

  • Coordinate with all departments to maintain station on-time performance and employee morale
  • Monitor and guide ground support performance and ensure equipment availability
  • Oversee day-to-day airport operations to create a safe, secure, and service-conscious environment
  • Perform administrative duties like building shift bids, payroll, and attendance reports
  • Drive performance processes by forecasting operational situations and monitoring key metrics
