Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years technical aviation-related experience
- At least 3 years management or leadership experience
- Experience with flight planning systems and aviation vendors
- FAA Aircraft Dispatcher certificate preferred
- Airbus Performance Engineering certification preferred
- Strong knowledge of Part 121 and Part 25 FAA regulations
- Proficiency in computer skills including Excel
- Willingness to learn SQL and programming basics
- Ability to work under general direction
- Availability to supervise Centralized Load Planning team
Job Qualifications
- B.S. in Aeronautical Science, Aeronautical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering Technology, or Aviation Management
- Combination of relevant education and experience considered in lieu of degree
- 5+ years experience in a technical, aviation-related field
- 3+ years management or leadership experience
- Prior experience with flight planning systems and aviation service vendors
- FAA Aircraft Dispatcher certificate preferred
- Airbus Performance Engineering certification or equivalent experience preferred
- Working knowledge of Part 121 Federal Aviation Regulations related to dispatch operations
- Detailed knowledge of Part 25 relating to aircraft performance
- Detailed knowledge of jet performance, navigation, weight and balance
- Knowledge of aeronautical navigation charts and terms
- Excellent computer skills including Excel and preferred SQL
- Basic to intermediate programming skills preferred
Job Duties
- Provide ongoing support to Marketing/Planning department by providing payload/range capability of the fleet for market evaluations and planning
- Perform new station opening analysis for Dispatch operations and performance requirements
- Monitor and assess airport construction initiatives for impact on payload performance and operational safety
- Identify, evaluate, and assist in managing operational changes to SOC and Flight Operations procedures to reduce expense, improve operations, and ensure regulatory compliance
- Provide technical input regarding proposed and future regulations and FAA guidance
- Calculate weight changes and reweighs, updating systems and manuals
- Act as airline’s focal point with AeroData vendor and serve as system administrator
- Oversee development and maintenance of navigation and performance data for flight planning system
- Manage aircraft inductions and exits with operations management systems
- Monitor aircraft performance characteristics including fuel burn degradation
- Monitor fuel tankering and cost index initiatives
- Provide aircraft performance data for aircraft valuation purposes
- Serve as primary subject matter expert for One Engine Inoperative procedure development
- Perform hazard identification and safety risk assessment, promote safety, and advise management on SMS performance and improvements
- Accept Green (low) risk determinations according to company risk matrix
