Job Requirements
- Graduation from high school or equivalent
- sufficient training and experience to demonstrate related knowledge and abilities
- valid California Class A or B Commercial Driver License with appropriate endorsements
- valid California Special Driver Certificate issued by DMV for school bus drivers
- valid Medical Examiner's Certificate
- valid First Aid and CPR Certificate from authorized agency
- Department of Justice fingerprint clearance through California Highway Patrol
- good DMV driving record maintaining insurability
- compliance with federal drug and alcohol testing requirements
Job Qualifications
- Graduation from high school or equivalent
- valid California Class A or B Commercial Driver License with passenger, school bus, and air brake endorsements
- valid California Special Driver Certificate for school bus drivers
- valid Medical Examiner's Certificate
- valid First Aid and CPR certificates
- understanding of California Motor Vehicle Code and student transportation laws
- ability to perform daily safety inspections
- effective communication skills
- ability to maintain discipline and ensure safety
Job Duties
- Drive a school bus on designated routes
- pick up and discharge students according to schedules
- observe legal and defensive driving practices
- maintain order and discipline among passengers
- perform daily safety inspections and assist in cleaning buses
- transport students and designated adults on routes and activity trips
- communicate with staff, parents, and transportation personnel regarding safety and student behavior
