Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education or experience preferred
  • 5+ years experience with DOT regulations and transportation safety administration
  • CDL preferred
  • OSHA compliance experience required
  • Experience with Hours-of-Service compliance and Electronic Logging Devices
  • Knowledge of CSA and corrective methods to maintain compliance
  • Experience training CDL drivers required
  • Ability to travel up to 60 percent
  • Must be able to communicate effectively
  • Must be able to remain stationary for long periods
  • Must be able to operate computer and office equipment
  • Physical ability to travel in and out of state

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years experience with DOT regulations and transportation safety administration
  • CDL preferred
  • Proven experience with Hours-of-Service compliance and Electronic Logging Devices
  • Required OSHA compliance experience
  • Knowledge of CSA and related corrective methods
  • Experience training CDL drivers
  • Strong communication and leadership skills

Job Duties

  • Understand and have complete comprehension of all applicable state and federal DOT and OSHA regulations
  • Perform all tasks in a safe manner and in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies
  • Maintain working knowledge of CSA and corrective methods to sustain compliance
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with CPG employees and independent contractors
  • Train drivers on safety protocols and compliance standards
  • Implement, direct, and monitor safety initiatives to promote a safe working environment
  • Conduct facility safety inspections, OSHA and DOT compliance audits, safety and driver meetings, accident and injury investigations
  • Conduct ongoing safety audits and inspections of facilities, operations, equipment, and processes
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards on independent contractors’ equipment
  • Develop and deliver safety training programs based on safety needs and trends
  • Work with corporate staff to identify and implement best practices for accident prevention and regulatory compliance
