Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- must have reliable telephone and transportation
- must have a valid driver's license
- able to treat all information as confidential
- possess tact to deal with various situations and people
- able to read, write, understand, and carry out instructions in English
- physically able to lift up to 70 lbs. repeatedly
- able to sit, stand, lift, bend, push, squat, and stoop throughout shifts
- willing and able to work in extreme climatic conditions
- must pass pre-employment and random drug tests
- must pass criminal background check
- must cope with non-routine situations including irregular flight schedules
- must be a U.S. citizen or have appropriate work authorization
- must have a clear driving record
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- computer experience preferred
- previous customer service experience preferred
- ability to communicate clearly and concisely in English verbally and in written form
- must be detail-oriented and capable of performing with minimal supervision
- excellent radio and telephone skills
- familiarity with FAA, airline, company, and airport regulations
- ability to handle multiple situations simultaneously
- ability to assist disabled passengers
- ability to work in various climatic conditions
Job Duties
- Handling and care of passenger baggage
- loading, unloading, transportation to and from various locations of the airport
- handling and care of U.S. mail, freight, express parcels
- loading, unloading, transportation to and from various locations of the airport
- ensuring ground handling is accomplished in accordance with customer and company specifications
- maintaining a safety-oriented approach for personnel, passengers, equipment, and aircraft
- operating aircraft servicing equipment for electrical, engine start, lavatory, water service, and deicing functions
- providing safe guidance of aircraft to and from parked areas, taxiways, and gate areas using visual, hand, verbal, and electronic communications
- pushing or towing aircraft to and from designated airport locations
- assisting disabled passengers in and out of the aircraft
- thorough cleaning of aircraft interiors according to company and client specifications
- pulling computer work assignments and provisioning aircraft as directed
- completing reports accurately and promptly
- staying familiar with all FAA, airline, company, and airport regulations
- keeping supervisor informed of needs and issues in assigned areas, maintaining cleanliness and reporting maintenance requirements
- projecting a positive image and responding courteously to clients, staff, and the public
- attending meetings and inservices as required
- utilizing appropriate communication channels and maintaining records and reports
- adhering to company policies and participating in achieving company objectives
- using company and client equipment, supplies, and resources conscientiously
- performing other duties as requested
