Job Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- No experience needed
- AHA Heartsaver AED certification required before end of orientation period
- Ability to understand English to follow instructions
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, reaching, and operating equipment
- Availability to work full-time hours between 6 a.m. and 10:30 p.m.
- Must complete successful onboarding process including pre-employment physical and annual flu vaccination (with exemptions)
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Ability to understand and respond appropriately to English instructions
- AHA Heartsaver AED certification or willingness to obtain during orientation
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 30 lbs, bending, reaching, and operating cleaning machinery
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to infection control standards
- Good communication skills to assist nursing staff and coordinate tasks
- No prior experience required but willingness to learn and adhere to protocols
Job Duties
- Performs between-case cleaning of the operating rooms in an expedient yet detailed manner in accordance with operating room policy
- Properly performs terminal cleaning of the operating rooms on a scheduled basis
- Maintains overall environment by keeping trash empty, cleaning spills, and removing soiled linen continuously
- Strips, waxes, and buffs floors regularly
- Assists nursing staff by procuring equipment needed to perform surgery such as special surgical tables and video towers and returns equipment to proper locations after use
- Assists in moving operating room beds, ICU beds, and other specialty beds
- Performs daily re-stocking of designated supply areas including linen and fluid warmers
- Performs routine maintenance on housekeeping equipment and operates machinery including wet vacuums and automatic floor scrubbers
- Safely transports patients to and from the operating room
- Performs errands including obtaining and delivering specimens, blood products, and X-rays
- Obtains additional supplies and equipment for nursing staff as requested
