Job Requirements
- North Carolina EMT-Paramedic certification
- South Carolina EMT-Paramedic certification within one year
- Certified Community Paramedic credential within two years
- ACLS certification
- PALS certification
- BLS certification
- Minimum three years full-time paramedic experience in 9-1-1 or emergency department
- Valid driver's license with acceptable motor vehicle record
- Ability to lift 50 pounds without assistance
- Ability to work variable shifts including day, night, weekend, and on-call
- Ability to operate vehicles safely in all weather conditions
- Effective communication skills in English
- No physical, emotional, or mental impairments preventing patient care or vehicle operation
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- North Carolina EMT-Paramedic certification required at hire
- South Carolina EMT-Paramedic and National Registry certification required within one year of hire
- Certified Community Paramedic (CP-C) or CAMTS-designated provider credential required within two years of hire
- Maintain ACLS, PALS, and BLS certifications as directed
- Minimum three years full-time experience in a 9-1-1 paramedic role or a high-volume emergency department
- Valid driver's license with acceptable motor vehicle record
- Knowledge of healthcare, EMS systems, and applicable regulations preferred
- Strong communication skills in English
- Ability to critically think and make rapid decisions
Job Duties
- Respect patient rights and confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and Atrium policies
- Provide accurate and legible patient care documentation
- Deliver quality patient care and education in alignment with Mobile Medicine policies and state regulations
- Interpret clinical data, read monitors, and respond appropriately to ensure patient safety and recovery
- Participate in Mobile Medicine Performance Improvement activities
- Administer medications and IV solutions safely and per policy
- Maintain flexibility with vehicle assignments and ensure vehicles are mission ready
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment including base and vehicle readiness
- Utilize technology efficiently for patient assessment, consults, and data collection
- Uphold understanding of ethics and cultural competency in patient care
- Understand reimbursement payer models relating to healthcare services
