Job Requirements

  • Meet personal schedule requirements punctually
  • Provide a clean, well-manicured appearance reflecting restaurant image
  • Safely transport containers up to 30 pounds
  • Stand or walk for entire shifts
  • Safely transport items on slick or uneven surfaces and stairs
  • Work in limited physical spaces with variable ventilation, smoke, and extreme temperatures
  • Work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1-year pastry chef experience in a full service restaurant or equivalent
  • Ability to follow supervisor’s instructions
  • Ability to make appropriate judgment calls under stress
  • Strong attention to detail with food quality and presentation
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to work as an active team player
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Perform daily walk through inventory to prioritize product utilization
  • Identify and communicate inventory and equipment needs to ordering manager
  • Meet daily with executive chef to coordinate and ensure production standards
  • Assist in developing and maintaining pastry recipe books including ingredients and portion sizes
  • Assist in developing dessert menus and items
  • Produce pastries for the restaurant and special functions
  • Prepare ingredients and pastry items according to prescribed recipes
  • Maintain food quality standards including consistency and presentation
  • Coordinate proper food storage as per operating procedures
  • Work dessert station on line when necessary
  • Use kitchen equipment as required for menu preparation
  • Safely and efficiently use knives and utensils
  • Operate independently if necessary
  • Maintain a clean and orderly workspace for safety
  • Communicate problems to management promptly
