Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • General cashiering background or prior money handling experience preferred
  • Fluency in reading and writing English
  • Competent math skills (add, subtract, multiply and divide)
  • Excellent customer relations skills
  • Ability to comply with department, property and regulatory policies
  • Knowledge of tote system to place customer bets
  • Efficiency and accuracy in wager processing and payouts
  • Cooperative and team-oriented mindset
  • Dependable with adherence to variance policies and guest feedback
  • Physically capable with ability to lift 25 lbs and perform physical tasks
  • Ability to obtain required Gaming Permit
  • Successful completion of ServSafe Alcohol training certification

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to learn and comply with department, property and regulatory policy and procedure - knowledge of tote system to place customer bets
  • Efficiency and accuracy when entering guests wagers and paying out winners
  • Ability to cooperate and work well with co-workers and other departments
  • Dependability - variances within standards according to department variance policy - guest feedback (verbal and written comments)
  • Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations including ability to push, pull, carry and lift up to 25 lbs., and the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance in varying work areas such as confined spaces
  • Must be able to obtain a Gaming Permit
  • Must successfully complete ServSafe Alcohol training certification course

Job Duties

  • Check in and report to assigned window, sign on to terminal
  • Draw specific amount of money from Supervisor
  • Operate tote terminals
  • Sell wagers
  • Cash tickets, cancel tickets and pay out winning tickets
  • Check guest identification to prevent minors from wagering
  • Transfer money to supervisors and record sum on teller summary sheet
  • Count all cash on hand at end of shift and balance cash box
  • Return money and summary sheet to supervisor at end of shift
  • Turn in all cashed tickets, draws, returns to supervisor
  • Maintain an orderly work area, clean window area and help clean line
  • Represent the Mutuel Department in meetings
  • Attend classes held in service
  • Perform other duties as assigned
