Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- current BLS certification
- current credentialing with recognized medical assistant organizations or valid LPN license for NC or SC
- graduation from accredited nursing school for LPNs
- completion of EMT-Paramedic program and certification for paramedics
- previous medical office experience preferred for LPNs
- ability to complete Medical Group competency assessment within 8 weeks of hire
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent for Medical Assistants
- current BLS certification
- maintain current credentialing with recognized medical assistant organizations such as AAMA-CMA, AMT-RMA, NCCT-NCMA, NHA-CCMA, NHCWA, ARMA, NAHP, or NRMA
- Licensed Practical Nurse with current license to practice in NC or SC for LPNs
- graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing
- previous medical office experience preferred
- paramedics must have high school diploma or equivalent
- completion of EMT-Paramedic program and current EMT-Paramedic certification
- successful completion of approved Medical Group competency assessment within 8 weeks of hire
Job Duties
- Prepare patient and equipment for exams and procedures
- maintain exam rooms and clinical area
- return phone messages to patients and pharmacies
- collect and prepare lab specimens and lab requisitions accurately
- schedule and obtain authorizations for referrals and procedures
- prepare and perform radiology diagnostics such as x-rays based on training and experience
- provide front-office clerical support including worker compensation verification, answering phones, scheduling appointments, referrals, prior authorizations, and scheduling procedures or diagnostic tests
