Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- current BLS certification
- appropriate licensure or certification for the role (e.g., LPN license, EMT-Paramedic certification)
- completion of accredited training programs
- ability to maintain patient confidentiality
- successful completion of approved Medical Group competency assessment within 8 weeks of hire
- previous medical office experience preferred for LPNs
Job Qualifications
- Medical Assistant: high school diploma or equivalent
- BLS certification required
- current credentialing with AAMA-CMA, AMT-RMA, NCCT-NCMA, NHA-CCMA, NHCWA, ARMA, NAHP, or NRMA
- successful completion of Medical Group competency assessment within 8 weeks of hire
- LPN: licensed practical nurse with current license to practice in NC or SC
- graduate of accredited school of practical nursing
- previous medical office experience preferred
- BLS certification required
- successful completion of Medical Group competency assessment within 8 weeks of hire
- Paramedic: high school diploma or equivalent
- BLS certification required
- completion of EMT-Paramedic program
- current certification as EMT-Paramedic
- successful completion of Medical Group competency assessment within 8 weeks of hire
Job Duties
- Work within the credentialed scope of practice
- Prepare patient and equipment for exams and procedures
- Maintain exam rooms and clinical area
- Return phone messages to patients and pharmacies
- Collect and prepare lab specimens and lab requisitions accurately
- Schedule and obtain authorizations for referrals and procedures
- Perform radiology diagnostics including x-rays based on training and experience
- Provide front-office clerical support including worker compensation verification, answering phones, scheduling appointments, referrals, obtaining prior authorizations, and scheduling procedures or diagnostic tests
- Maintain patient confidentiality
