Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- one to three months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- valid state food handlers permit
- valid driver's license or state I.D. card
- ability to stand for prolonged periods
- ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
- effective verbal communication skills
- ability to follow written and oral instructions
- capability to operate meat and seafood equipment safely
- able to uphold hygiene and safety standards
- willingness to participate in required training programs
- ability to work in a team environment
- physical capability for repetitive tasks and safe lifting
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or one to three months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- reads and comprehends simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
- writes simple correspondence
- communicates effectively and pleasantly with guests, vendors, and fellow associates
- performs mathematical skills using units of American money and weight measurement
- applies common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form
- meets the state minimum requirement to work with slicers or other seafood/meat equipment and tools
- holds a valid state food handlers permit
- possesses a valid driver's license or state I.D. card
- completes Yoke’s provided training including Active Shooter, Meat/Seafood Skills Training levels One, Two, and Three, Food Handler’s Safety Training, HIPAA Training, Late Night Retail Safety Training, Yoke's Safety Orientation, and Guest Service Training
- willing to receive hepatitis A vaccination provided by Yoke’s pharmacy (optional)
Job Duties
- Reporting for assigned shifts on time and prepared to provide excellent service
- promoting sales through active discussions with guests and offering product recommendations
- providing guest service by greeting guests and informing them about special features and services in the Meat/Seafood Department
- performing meat and seafood preparation tasks such as grinding, seasoning, slicing, cooking, packaging, and maintaining process logs
- operating equipment safely including slicers, smokers, vacuum pack machines, and scales
- communicating guest requests accurately for special orders
- mentoring new associates and fostering a positive learning environment
- ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding workplace safety, food handling, sanitation, and guest services
