Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED
  • minimum two years shipping/receiving experience in manufacturing or warehouse
  • minimum two years experience operating a 25-ton crane
  • ability to read and understand safety and operating documents
  • capable of communicating in small groups
  • ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
  • ability to apply common sense to written, oral, or diagram instructions
  • experience driving a forklift and operating power tools
  • good communication and organizational skills
  • physically able to lift minimum 75 pounds
  • capable of working in fast-paced, moderate noise environment
  • able to recognize metal defects
  • knowledge of shipping procedures

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or GED
  • minimum of two years shipping/receiving experience in manufacturing or warehouse setting
  • minimum of two years operating a 25-ton crane
  • ability to read and comprehend safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
  • communication skills for small group settings
  • ability to calculate figures such as fractions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
  • common sense reasoning skills to perform work instructions
  • ability to operate forklift and power tools
  • good organizational skills
  • ability to recognize metal defects
  • knowledge of shipping procedures and regulations

Job Duties

  • Prepare materials for packaging and shipping of finished coils
  • package finished coils safely and move them to designated finished goods storage
  • verify that finished goods have proper identification tickets before storage
  • inspect finished coils for damage or non-conformity before storage
  • quarantine non-conforming material and notify Quality Control
  • comply with Quality and Environmental Management System principles
  • communicate daily with Maintenance, Operations, and Quality Control teams to resolve issues
