Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • completed and submitted BVSD online application
  • communicate (read, write, and speak) in English and pass English interview component
  • pass post offer physical
  • pass Math Test at entry
  • pass FS Online Training Assessment by completion of probationary period
  • proficiently operate kitchen equipment upon hire
  • have working knowledge of Horizon Software Shopping list, inventory and production module within 3 months of hire
  • have working knowledge of QSP Point of Sale software within 3 months of hire
  • ability to lift 50 lbs on a frequent basis

Job Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • completed and submitted BVSD online application
  • communicate effectively in English including passing interview English component
  • proficiency operating kitchen equipment
  • working knowledge of Horizon Software modules within 3 months of hire
  • working knowledge of QSP Point of Sale software within 3 months of hire
  • ability to lift 50 lbs frequently
  • understanding of HACCP Standard Operating Procedures
  • preferred minimum of three years experience in Food Services
  • intermediate personal computing and problem solving skills

Job Duties

  • Order and receive food and supplies
  • perform monthly inventories
  • create and maintain production records using Horizon Software order, inventory and production modules
  • prepare and serve meals according to planned menus and recipes
  • operate Point of Sale software for recording meal sales and collections
  • collect and prepare monies, deposit slips and bank deposits
  • maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and food storage areas
  • train and direct Food Service Assistants
  • ensure compliance with USDA guidelines and BVSD Food Services standards
  • maintain temperature logs and equipment operation
  • foster positive relations with students, staff, and community
  • perform other duties as assigned
