Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Previous cleaning or janitorial experience preferred
  • Ability to follow instructions and safety protocols
  • Punctual and dependable
  • Able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including night shifts

  • Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment

Job Duties

  • Clean the interior of buildings, including floors, carpets, rugs, windows and walls, and general tasks
  • Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors in offices, rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, elevators, stairs, locker rooms, and other work areas
  • Clean stains from chairs and upholstered furniture
  • Keep furniture free of dust, as well as lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, and moldings
  • Empty trash cans, as well as clean trash cans and ashtrays
  • Disinfect commonly used items such as desks, door handles, office tools, and phones
  • Clean and maintain restrooms and replenish supplies where required
  • Wash and clean windows and mirrors
  • Empty trash and recycling containers to the disposal area
  • Clean trash and snow from sidewalks if necessary
  • Maintain the inventory of cleaning supplies and request missing materials from supervisors
  • Notify supervisors of unsafe conditions or conditions requiring maintenance
  • Maintain a cleaning chart indicating the areas that were cleaned and inspected
  • Follow safety and precaution rules
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Close doors at the end of the night shift
