Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- previous janitorial or cleaning experience is advantageous
- ability to follow safety procedures and work independently
- basic inventory management skills
- strong attention to detail and dependability
- good communication skills to report issues to supervisors
Job Duties
- Clean the interior of buildings including floors, carpets, rugs, windows, and walls
- vacuum, sweep, and mop floors in offices, rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, elevators, stairs, locker rooms, and other work areas
- clean stains from chairs and upholstered furniture
- keep furniture, lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, and moldings free of dust
- empty trash cans and clean trash cans and ashtrays
- disinfect commonly used items such as desks, door handles, office tools, and phones
- clean and maintain restrooms and replenish supplies
- wash and clean windows and mirrors
- empty trash and recycling containers to disposal area
- clean trash and snow from sidewalks if necessary
- maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and request missing materials
- notify supervisors of unsafe conditions or maintenance needs
- maintain a cleaning chart indicating areas cleaned and inspected
- follow safety and precaution rules
- lift up to 50 pounds
- close doors at the end of the night shift
