Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • able to work flexible hours and days
  • current food handler permit required
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to stand for extended periods
  • ability to lift up to 20 lbs frequently and over 40 lbs with assistance
  • willingness to follow safety regulations and company policies

  • knowledge of food and beverage products including menu items and prices for all meal periods
  • knowledge of property-wide facilities and services
  • possess excellent telephone and organizational skills
  • must be able to stand for extended periods of time
  • must be able to personally lift up to 20 lbs on a frequent basis
  • must be able to occasionally lift over 40 lbs with assistance

Job Duties

  • Clock in and check in with the manager-on-duty
  • greet and welcome every guest as they enter the lodge restaurants
  • acknowledge and thank all guests as they depart
  • confirm the number of people in each party and inquire if there are any special needs or requests
  • record necessary information on waiting lists when the restaurant is full
  • use proper paging procedures when paging anyone
  • escort every guest to the table, hand out menus, and ensure tables are properly set up
  • ensure even seating of the restaurant by seating the tables in proper rotation
  • maximize the seating of the restaurant by seating appropriately
  • use proper telephone procedures
  • assist servers with refilling beverages and clearing tables as directed by the manager-on-duty
  • complete assigned side work such as trading out menus at shift change and stocking supplies
  • comply with all Sunriver policies, procedures, and safety regulations
  • train and welcome new hosts and hostesses
  • lead and direct the flow of service and reservations by coaching host team members
  • communicate guest information and feedback with the manager-on-duty
