Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in bakery or food service preferred
  • Ability to follow recipes and operate bakery equipment
  • Must be able to lift heavy items up to 50 lbs
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to maintain sanitation and safety standards
  • Ability to stand for long periods
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Must comply with company grooming and uniform policies

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to proficiently read, write, speak, analyze, interpret and understand English
  • Ability to stand and walk for the duration of a scheduled shift
  • Ability to bend, twist, reach, push, pull and lift 25 lbs regularly and 50 lbs occasionally
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures
  • Ability to work with fresh, dried and/or processed products without allergic consequences
  • Ability to tolerate dust and cleaning agents
  • Ability to interact with Customers in a friendly and helpful way
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others
  • Ability to comply with all time and attendance policies and assigned schedules
  • Must be at least 18 years old to operate certain machinery

Job Duties

  • Maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe work environment
  • Maintain department sanitation and QA standards
  • Clean and sanitize all work surfaces, utensils and equipment
  • Keep floor clear of debris and spills
  • Greet all customers and provide prompt, courteous service
  • Maintain and properly use all department equipment
  • Pack out product into display cases
  • Rotate product to ensure freshness
  • Ensure accurate signage for the department
  • Prepare trays to company and customer satisfaction
  • Perform duties in accordance with local, state and federal regulations
  • Dress and groom according to company policy
  • Perform duties following QA hand washing standards and use disposable gloves
  • Follow recipes to produce food products of specified flavor and texture
  • Set up, operate and tend bakery equipment according to recipes
  • Prepare special order requests as needed
  • Track sales movement on production logs
  • Take accurate inventory of supplies and reorder as needed
  • Place reclamation in its proper location
  • Lift, pull, push and rotate merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs
  • Unload trucks and transport merchandise
  • Check prices and know item locations
  • Promote charitable promotions to customers
  • Stand for duration of shift
  • Receive deliveries
  • Assist in other departments when instructed
  • Follow HAZCOM program and safe use of chemicals
  • Adhere to company safety and security standards
  • Follow procedures for receiving, code dating, storing and restocking products
  • Handle damaged and spoiled products per company policy
  • Adhere to company shrink guidelines
  • Utilize and maintain equipment and report issues
  • Check refrigeration equipment performance
  • Complete all department training programs
  • Maintain punctual and regular attendance
  • Work overtime as assigned
  • Work cooperatively with others
  • Operate balers, hi-lo's, power jacks and slicing machines if over 18
  • Perform other duties as assigned
