Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • U.S. citizenship
  • at least 18 years of age
  • valid state motor vehicle operator's license
  • ability to obtain SIDA badge
  • ability to lift and move items of 70 pounds or more
  • ability to climb, bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods
  • ability to hear and respond to alarms and spoken voice
  • ability to distinguish colors on screening equipment
  • compliance with company attendance standards
  • ability to work shift work and overtime
  • ability to read, speak, and write English
  • successful completion of training program
  • compliance with DOT drug and alcohol testing program

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • college coursework or degree preferred
  • two years of airline or military ramp operations experience preferred
  • ability to obtain and maintain GSC qualification
  • ability to comply with DOT drug and alcohol testing program
  • ability to read, understand, and follow ramp operation procedures
  • ability to use computer keyboard with sufficient speed
  • successful completion of Operations/Freight Agent training program with 90% average
  • good written and oral communication skills
  • ability to communicate verbally in person, by telephone, and public address systems
  • ability to handle emergencies
  • teamwork skills
  • ability to work under pressure
  • alertness to moving vehicles and aircraft
  • maintain professional appearance
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • ability to work assigned shifts including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • valid state motor vehicle operator's license
  • may require Customs Seal for international flights

Job Duties

  • Provide friendly service and maintain positive relationships with customers
  • work cooperatively with team members to ensure company success
  • operate in air freight facilities with exposure to weather and noise
  • open and close air freight facilities as needed
  • handle station AMS and radio communications
  • verify cargo information and handle facility telephone calls
  • resolve customer situations with Positively Outrageous Service
  • write and submit irregularity reports
  • check cargo logging and accounting
  • dispatch mail and company materials
  • greet and assist customers
  • re-manifest cargo due to flight changes
  • conduct federally mandated cargo screening per TSA
  • manage payments and balance daily transactions
  • operate computerized point-of-sale system
  • maintain uniform standards and professional appearance
  • provide friendly service to co-workers and customers
  • perform special assignments as delegated
  • ensure ground security and follow procedures
  • may perform duties of Operations Agent
  • meet physical ability requirements
  • perform other duties as directed
