Job Description

Walmart Supercenter #1464, located at 8180 S Tryon St, Charlotte, NC, is a prominent retail establishment known for its dedication to customer service and quality merchandise. As part of the Walmart family, this supercenter offers a wide range of products and services, emphasizing affordability and convenience for its customers. Walmart is one of the world's largest retailers, recognized for its commitment to providing excellent value and a diverse shopping experience across various departments, including groceries, household goods, electronics, clothing, and more.

This position is for a part-time Food and Consumable Associate, a role integral to Walmart's operation that combines customer service with creative merchandising. The associate will primarily focus on moving incoming merchandise to the sales floor efficiently and creating attractive seasonal display features that cater to customer needs. The role requires a keen eye for detail, a proactive approach to stocking and merchandising, and a dedication to providing exceptional service to Walmart's diverse clientele.

The hourly wage for this position ranges from $15 to $28 per hour, with the actual rate ensuring compliance with or surpassing the minimum wage requirements applicable to the job's location. In addition to the base hourly wage, associates may receive additional compensation through annual or quarterly performance incentives. Premium pay may also be applicable in specific situations, such as different schedules, facilities, seasons, or particular types of work. These premiums range from $0.35 to $3.00 per hour and can be combined if the criteria are met.

Employment is part-time, with available shifts during mid-shift and closing times, offering flexibility for candidates seeking varied work hours. Beyond the compensation, Walmart offers a comprehensive benefits package designed to support the well-being and financial stability of its associates. Health benefits include medical, vision, and dental coverage. Financial benefits are robust, featuring a 401(k) plan, stock purchase options, and company-paid life insurance. Paid time off benefits cover parental leave, family care leave, bereavement, jury duty, and voting, ensuring associates have the support they need during important life events.

Other notable benefits include short-term and long-term disability coverage, company discounts, military leave pay, reimbursement for adoption and surrogacy expenses, and more. Associates accrue Paid Time Off (PTO) or Personal Paid Time Off (PPTO) to use for vacations, sick leave, holidays, or other purposes, with amounts based on job classification and employment length. This PTO entitlement meets or exceeds paid sick leave laws where applicable.

Walmart also promotes education and career advancement through its Live Better U program, a benefit available to both full-time and part-time associates. This program covers tuition, books, and fees for studies ranging from high school completion to bachelor's degrees, including English Language Learning and short-form certificates.

Walmart maintains a strict drug-free workplace policy, applying to all employees to ensure a safe and productive environment. This no tolerance policy regarding illegal drug and alcohol use underscores Walmart's commitment to employee safety and operational excellence.
