Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Minimum 1 year experience as a medical receptionist preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Proficiency in data entry and computer use
  • Ability to type accurately and spell correctly
  • Familiarity with complementary and alternative medicine therapies is a plus
  • Strong communication skills both oral and written
  • Ability to organize and manage time effectively
  • Professional demeanor
  • Capability to facilitate group interactions
  • Excellent customer service skills

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • 1 year medical receptionist experience preferred
  • Experience with medical terminology
  • Proficient data entry and computer skills
  • Proficient typing and accurate spelling
  • Experience or familiarity with complementary and alternative medicine therapies preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Professionalism and group facilitation skills
  • Customer relation skills

Job Duties

  • Answers multi-line telephone and provides routine information to callers and patients
  • Takes messages and places pages
  • Contacts patients by telephone to confirm scheduling information and communicates patient schedules and changes to the appropriate staff
  • Performs patient check-in and initial patient registration tasks and ensures accurate completion of forms
  • Collects patients' post charges and payments and completes patient receipts in a timely fashion
  • Orders, monitors and stocks all paper supplies including retail items
  • Processes incoming and outgoing mail and supply deliveries
  • Files and maintains an orderly medical records system
