Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- ability to perform advanced cleaning and disinfection in a hospital environment
- ability to follow detailed cleaning procedures and infection prevention protocols
- ability to respond quickly to emergency cleaning requests
- physical ability to perform cleaning duties including lifting and moving equipment
- ability to work night shift hours from 10:30 PM to 7:00 AM
- ability to handle hazardous waste in compliance with regulations
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- writing ability to record data such as room numbers and/or names on lists
- ability to follow standard procedures of Environmental Services
- knowledge of hospital cleaning protocols and infection control measures
- ability to use various cleaning devices, machines, tools, products and supplies
- strong attention to detail
- good communication skills to report maintenance needs and comply with safety standards
- ability to work night shifts
- ability to handle medical waste safely
Job Duties
- Perform thorough terminal cleaning of patient rooms, isolation rooms, operating/procedure rooms, and other clinical spaces following discharge, transfer, or completion of procedures
- follow proper cleaning sequence and techniques to prevent cross-contamination
- handle and dispose of regulated medical waste in accordance with safety standards
- assist in cleaning of emergency spills observed or on request within five minutes of notification
- maintain and clean assigned equipment and request repairs be made as needed
- observe and report the need to repair furniture, building and fixtures to supervisor
- use supplies, chemicals and equipment properly and in accordance with oral or written instructions
- check all areas keeping them free of spills, stains and debris
- check supplies daily and replenish as needed
- perform other duties as assigned by Woman's Hospital
