Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Must pass a physical ability test
- Willingness to work 3rd shift hours
- Physical ability to perform continuous walking, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 50 pounds
- Ability to handle potentially contaminated and biohazardous waste safely
- Related experience preferred
- Ability to complete written forms accurately

Job Duties
- Performs routine cleaning tasks in assigned area following a 7-step cleaning process including disinfecting patient rooms after discharge
- Maintains floors and carpets by following a scheduled maintenance plan including dust mopping, wet mopping, stripping, refinishing, spot cleaning, burnishing, and extraction using specified equipment
- Cleans fixtures, furnishings, walls, woodwork, stairwells, interior windows, elevators and equipment exteriors to meet hospital standards
- Empties trash containers, wipes and relines bins, and operates compactors as necessary
- Replenishes disposable supplies such as soap, toilet paper, and paper towels in all designated areas
- Moves and resets furnishings to original locations upon completing cleaning duties
- Adheres to all safety and infection control protocols when handling biohazardous waste and cleaning solutions
