Habitat for Humanity Central Arizona (HFHCAZ) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming lives and strengthening communities by building affordable housing and promoting homeownership. Job Requirements

  • Possess a current and valid AZ driver’s license, with good driving record
  • Must pass driving and driver safety video series
  • Familiarity with Phoenix Metro area
  • Knowledge of building materials and handling
  • Pass a criminal background check
  • Pass drug screening
  • Pass motor vehicle report (MVR)
  • Able to lift and/or move 50 pounds or more
  • Ability to safely perform physical demands such as bending, standing, twisting, reaching, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling
  • Maintain neat appearance and wear designated uniform and PPE
  • Able to use or learn to use office equipment and communication devices
  • Comply with all safety and training requirements

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of three years of experience as a truck driver
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to de-escalate negative donor and customer interactions
  • Must be self-motivated and carry a positive attitude
  • Ability to use commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
  • Ability to convey clear, concise information verbally or through other communication techniques
  • Ability to complete formal training plans and assignments
  • Treat others in a nondiscriminatory, lawful, and ethical manner
  • Follow safe practices to avoid injuries and accidents

Job Duties

  • Act as the representative of Habitat for Humanity ReStores to ensure that all donors are treated professionally and courteously
  • Attempt to resolve any issues that may arise in the course of a donation pick up and immediately report issues that occur
  • At the conclusion of every interaction, genuinely thank the donor and express gratitude for their contribution
  • Utilize schedule software to execute daily routes and pick up donations as assigned
  • Use provided resources to contact donors if there is a change to previously communicated pick up time
  • Constant communication with call center dispatch on job updates and reschedules
  • Identify items that meet quality standards and are suitable for resale following ReStore guidelines
  • Inspect donations carefully and enforce requirements tactfully
  • Ensure that care is taken to protect the security and safe handling of all donated goods and materials from removal at donor to delivery at store
  • Protection of company assets by securing all loading doors, tools, and vehicles before, during and after routes
  • Maintain compliance with all issued training, including LMS training assigned by the affiliate
  • Complete truck inspection report daily and report maintenance and safety conditions to supervisor verbally
  • Must maintain a neat appearance and good hygiene, including clean clothing and wearing of designated uniform and applicable PPE
